Which iPod Is It Going to Be?
September 7th, 2005In a little over an hour, Apple will announce its new iPod. Is it going to be the iPod Phone, like most people are saying? Or is it going to be the iPod video player, like everyone else is saying?
I don’t much care for either idea. In my eyes, Apple hit perfection with the 60GB iPod Photo. Great musical capacity, decent battery life, and the most elegant iPod design. I’ve saving my pennies to buy one. The 2nd-generation iPod was close to perfection. I love my 20GB model, but its storage capacity is not nearly enough, and its battery is beginning to die. (More about that later.)
Update: It’s the phone. It’s also the iPod nano. We also get a new, improved iTunes, version 5.0 (finally: we can organize our playlists into folders).
Update: The folks over at Cult of Mac like the nano:
More than any iPod to date, the new nano is utterly drool-tastic.It’s got to be seen to be believed. Tiny, with a beautiful shiny color screen, it’s an absolute jewel of a device. A must have. No one can resist. I would have stolen one at the launch event if I could have got away with it.
That’s pretty much my impression, too. I haven’t seen one in person yet, but in photos it looks wicked cool.
