Football Fun

December 29th, 2005

If you missed the last play of the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, you missed one of the wildest plays since Cal vs. Stanford and the Stanford marching band. Trailing by 4 with just two seconds left, Michigan ran a hook-and-ladder (hook-and-lateral?) play that featured about umpteen different laterals, a fumble, the Nebraska team storming the field, and a near touchdown by Michigan. Unfortunately for the Wolverines (team motto: our yellow pants are uglier than any uniform ever worn in the USFL), they failed to score and so the play is only a mildly interesting Sportcenter highlight.
