But Hurricane Season Wasn’t Supposed to Start Until Tomorrow!

May 31st, 2006

No, it’s not a hurricane, but it’s one nasty track of weather bearing down upon us even as I write this:

That long train of storms sticking out perpendicular to the coast appears to be headed towards the Pearland area like a javelin, so that all of it will all pass right across our house. Where are we on that map? Imagine a line coming vertically up out of the word “Alvin” (yeah, the home of Nolan Ryan). Now imagine a line coming horizontally to the left out from underneath the word “Seabrook”. Where those two lines cross is more or less our part of Pearland.

We had stormy weather this morning too. I first heard the steady rain about 3:30 AM. An hour later came the heart of the storm, complete with lightning and thunder. I left in the middle of that and arrived at work at around 5:30 AM. I couldn’t get back to sleep in that storm, so why not try to get some work done?

I love a good storm. All we’ve had lately is thunder. Guess I’ll take what I can get!
