New Jig

Friday, June 30th, 2006

Here’s a jig I made for glass cutting. Its purpose is to let me cut multiple pieces of glass so that all the pieces come out exactly the same size.
The jig is made from 1/4-inch MDF; I built it with my table saw, router, and new router table. All the pieces are screwed permanently together [...]

Dear Very Concerned Auburn Fan,
If you “quit the team” I will know the world is coming to an end.
ANOTHER Very Concerned Sister

Dear Leigh Ann,
OK, so “quit the team” is a bit of an exaggeration, but I would be very disappointed. Auburn has the best, most beautiful uniforms known to mankind, and if [...]

Dear Big Brother….
No offense, but you must really bored to write a blog entry about shoes. I never imagined you’d be writing entries about fashion! Maybe you’ve been living in a house full of women too long!! For heaven’s sake, if you’re going to write about style, you should be discussing the [...]

What Is It About Clogs?

Monday, June 26th, 2006

I’m usually ignorant of fashion trends, especially footwear trends, but I’m suddenly noticing blog posts about clogs all over the place. Today Blurbomat even posted a slide show about Clogs vs Flip-Flops (slaps). I don’t wear either, but if I had to choose, it would definitely be slaps. Clogs are a fad. Slaps are timeless. [...]

Auburn’s game with LSU will be on CBS
Update: Paul Finebaum, in a rare moment of lucid reasoning, notes that CBS wrongly considers its Tennessee-Florida matchup, not LSU-Auburn, to be the prime game of the day. Whatever anti-psychotic meds you’re taking, Paul, they’re finally working!

Time to Make Something

Thursday, June 22nd, 2006

It’s such a beautiful day today that i’m going to knock off a few minutes early, go home, open up the garage, and spend some quality time with my workbench. Don’t know what I’ll work on. I’ve been wanting to buy or make a router table for my Porter-Cable router. Maybe I’ll work on that.

It’s a Beautiful Morning in Texas

Thursday, June 22nd, 2006

For the first time in a week, the morning isn’t overcast and rainy. The sun is out, the sky is blue, and the only clouds in the sky are white, fluffy, and friendly. It’s about time.

Summer’s Here…

…It arrived at 7:26 this morning. I don’t know how they can calculate it down to the exact minute. Maybe that’s the time that the weatherman gets out of bed.

Some Memorable Storms Have No Name

Monday, June 19th, 2006

The weather forecast had predicted a couple of days of rain, but nobody said it was going to be this severe. At 5 AM Sunday morning the sounds of thunder and rain woke me up. This morning, it was thunder that woke me up at 4 AM. There was no rain, but an amazing light [...]
