My Favorite Pink Floyd Albums

July 12th, 2006

From most to least favorite:

  • Wish You Were Here
  • Animals
  • Dark Side of the Moon
  • The Wall
  • Meddle
  • Atom Heart Mother

I couldn’t decide between Wish and Animals to top the list, so in deference to Syd, I put Wish at the top. Dark Side would probably be my favorite if I hadn’t listened to it approximately 100,000,000 times. And no, I’m not all that wild any more about The Wall.

This is not a very comprehensive list, considering Wikipedia credits the band with 14 studio albums, but they are the only albums I’ve heard enough to have an opinion of. All of these albums are on my iPod except for The Wall, which is a hole I still should fill. I have heard The Final Cut and Momentary Lapse of Reason, although I don’t even remember whether I liked them. (I saw the Floyd in concert when they were touring to promote Momentary Lapse, but my memory of the music faded as soon as my ears stopping ringing.) I used to have a copy of the compilation album Relics, but I have no idea what became of it, I do remember it had the wonderfully named song “Careful with that axe, Eugene”.
