Excuses, excuses

So I thought I’d indulge in a little shameless schadenfreude tonight and tune in to the playback of Paul Finebaum’s radio show to listen to the Bammers whine about their football team and their coach. Best comment so far: PF said of the Alabama board of trustees, that they’re a bunch of guys who “were born on third base and think they hit a triple.”

I also discovered that the only thing worse than last-minute political advertisements for local elections is last-minute political advertisements for somebody else’s locality.

Update: my listening got cut off last night, so I picked up again this morning. Here’s a good nugget . . . Finebaum interrupted a caller to say he’d just received an email from Brodie Croyle about the Mississippi State game:

Brodie says “I don’t know why everyone is upset. We did win the second half!”

The next caller said “I think Shula is Alabama’s Doug Barfield,” to which Finebaum replied “Why do you want to insult Doug Barfield?”
