Tarzan update

I went to the doctor again today. It’s been a week since the operation to take the screw out of my shoulder. Here’s what he told me: the shoulder has finished healing from the original injury. All that’s left now is to see that the incision heals and does not get infected. Unless something goes wrong, I won’t need to see him again. He said to take it easy for another week and then I can go back to riding and other activities again. I still have a bit of soreness in the shoulder, and feel some weakness in my right arm; I’ll be doing some exercises to try to get the arm and shoulder back in shape. And I’ll probably continue to stay out of trees — but not off horses.

By the way, I really like this doctor and his practice at the Fondren Orthopedic Group in the Clear Lake medical center. The doctor and staff are nice, but what I like most is that they make an effort to get you in and out quickly. If you arrive early, they will get you in to see the doctor early, if that’s possible. My appointment this morning was for nine. I got there at ten till, signed in, and was almost immediately taken back. The nurse took my stitches out, look at the incision, and put some fresh bandages on it. Then just a few minutes later the doctor came back to look at me and talk with me. My total time away from work, including driving there and back, was just half an hour.

    Ha.
I didn’t get in and out quickly..
It took nearly four hours for me to get 2 x-rays and 15 minutes with a doctor =p

Glad you’ve mended well. The “has finished healing” bit sounds like a definitive result. I hope it means equally “as good as new.”

Are we meant to decode the fakery in your footer? Is there a prize?
