“Horse” is Latin for “Pig”

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

Fred and Jackie bought a nice big 4-horse trailer a couple of weeks back. I rode with Fred to a farm up north of Nacogdoches to pick up the trailer two weekends ago; it’s about a three hour trip up there from here. It was weird riding through Nacogdoches. I had never been through that [...]

Laredo in One Minute

Monday, March 6th, 2006

I’ve been experimenting with one-minute videos. Here’s something I put together last week:

I’m planning to post this to the Making Movies blog sometime this week.

Bryn Canters!

Saturday, March 4th, 2006

Bryn’s been trying to canter at riding lessons, but without a lot of success. She’s made some false starts, but not yet anything that counts as a smashing success. Until today, that is. Riding Dancer, who is a small but very eager mare, Bryn cantered several times.

You will need QuickTime to view this video.

Sunny

Friday, January 13th, 2006

Meet Sunny. Sunny is our latest foster dog from the Houston Sheltie Sanctuary. She’s a Katrina refugee from somewhere in Louisiana. When she was brought into the program she was so covered in mats so dense that the only way to get rid of them was to shave her body. Sunny is about five years [...]

That Lazy, Worthless, No Good Jackie

Friday, December 23rd, 2005

Click below to read the story of how Fred, Wendy, and I worked our tails off at the stable today while Jackie was off getting her nails frosted, or having her hair polished or something…

Off Work, Horse Stuff

Friday, December 23rd, 2005

Yesterday was my last day of work until January 3rd. Today I’m going to help Fred clean out the shed at the place the horses are going to stay. I hesitate to call it a stable, because it’s really just a large shed, but it’s got enough shelter to keep the horses out of the [...]

So Long, Bailey

Wednesday, December 21st, 2005

Bailey got adopted this week. As you can see from the photo below, he was not eager to get in the car and drive away. Bailey was a young and very energetic dog who had been with us longer than any other foster sheltie. He was a handful, but we will miss him.

We’re also without [...]
